Looking Ahead to a Quality-Focused 2026

The holiday season and New Year brings us to a time of reflection: what we’ve done well, and how we can do better. For companies that strive to achieve excellence, there is no area more important than Quality Management. It quite literally defines whether an organization will suitably function, and whether their products and services will meet expectations. Yet far too many companies lack a Quality Management System (QMS) that can guide them in achieving results. As we celebrate 2025 and consider improvements for 2026, the team at QMS2GO presents to you 5 critical reasons you should consider a QMS software solution – and reach out to us in the New Year.

Introduction: Why Quality Management is Important

It goes without saying that quality, as a concept, is crucial. But how does one achieve quality? It is not something which occurs naturally. Creating a culture of quality requires continuous thought and effort by everyone within an organization. Inevitably, this means that some systematic strategy is required to get everyone on the same page. Fundamentally, that’s what Quality Management, as a concept, is all about.

Quality Management is the conscious and intentional pursuit of quality. And a Quality Management System (QMS) is the codified series of practices and beliefs that a company records and follows. These systems typically follow internationally recognized standards, such as ISO 9001, API Q1, or AS9100. However, the standard in and of itself is not a QMS. Rather, the system is what a company designs themselves, using the tenets of the standard as a guide, to fit their own organizational structure. This means that every QMS is unique.

As a result of this, Quality Management simultaneously is balanced between external standards and internal practices. And this is where questions arise. How exactly does one create a QMS? How difficult, costly, and time-consuming is the process? Is a QMS really right for my company? All too often, consideration of Quality Management begins – and ends – with these questions. And far too many organizations never take the next step: to actually implement Quality Management. For so many companies, the years pass by, and the opportunity to create a QMS remains unrealized. Without taking a meaningful step beyond the questions, the advantages of utilizing a QMS will never be known.

That’s why, in 2026, your company should take the next step – and embrace Quality Management.

Five Arguments for Quality Management

There is no shortage of reasons why Quality Management should be a priority for your organization – here are five of the best.

1.  Quality Management Provides Excellent Value

A 2008 study of QMS implementation found that, on average, companies that incorporated a QMS into their business practices saw a 300% return on investment (ROI).[1] And because these findings are from some years ago, even more improvement on cost efficiency has since been realized. Take, for example, our QMS2GO product. Utilizing QMS2GO is significantly cheaper than paying an external consulting company to implement a QMS, and the tailored pricing program ensures you will never pay for more than you need.

2.  Quality Management Improves Operational and Business Performance

An in-depth 2021 study into the use of the most popular QMS standard, ISO 9001, revealed that implementation could improve every single quantifiable operational and business performance area for a company.[2] These performance areas include organizational leadership, customer requirement compliance, defect prevention, continuous improvement, and supplier quality management. However, the same study also found that the effectiveness of ISO 9001 usage greatly depends on the level of managerial and company support. Companies which failed to properly support the Quality Management team did not receive as significant of benefits and even faced some downsides. This is where QMS2GO rises to the challenge. The software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution is easy to use and incorporate into existing business practices, with the only managerial requirement being payment of usage fees and any additional add-ons. Unlike complex implementation strategies, QMS2GO is cost-limited and low-effort, making it easy for small companies with limited resources to immediately begin receiving improvements from QMS utilization.

3.  Quality Management Increases Workplace and Product Safety

Regardless of the business sector, there is no greater priority for a company than the safety of its workers and customers. Poor safety can destroy a company’s reputation and lead to costly lawsuits. Recent studies have demonstrated that Quality Management best practices are directly transferrable to and lead to an increase of safe business operations,[3] and that broader quality-focused strategic approaches (such as the use of the Total Quality Management system) can dramatically reduce workplace accidents and injuries in higher-risk sectors.[4] Use of a QMS is also essential for product safety, particularly for industries where risks of potential failures are significant. Among these sectors, perhaps none are more highly regulated than the pharmaceutical and food industries; after all, the products we ingest can profoundly affect our health. Hence why it is no surprise that leading pharmaceutical companies like Novartis and GSK have designed their own comprehensive QMS solutions to ensure safety in product development and manufacturing,[5-6] and that the food industry broadly seeks to implement QMS to protect product quality.[7] QMS2GO’s affordability and ease of use ensures that not only large companies have access to these safety advantages – because we believe that every organization, large and small, should have access to tools that enable safe working conditions and quality, trustworthy products.

4.  Quality Management Improves Customer Confidence and Satisfaction

Customers trust companies that prioritize quality, and it is therefore no surprise that use of a QMS increases customer confidence. In fact, a 2025 study has shown that QMS incorporation not only significantly improved customer satisfaction, but also enhanced service quality and established better brand reputation and trust.[8] Prior academic surveys have also demonstrated similar findings, particularly for small and mid-sized companies.[9] It is clear that companies which commit to quality are rewarded by customers with increased reputational gain, and QMS2GO makes it easier than ever to incorporate a QMS into an organization’s management strategy.

5. Quality Management Increases Employee Happiness, Productivity, and Well-Being

The positive effects of Quality Management and a QMS are felt most strongly by the workers who directly benefit from them. An often cited 2012 study revealed that Quality Management practices increased employee job satisfaction and performance while decreasing their workloads and job stresses,[10] while a more recent 2023 survey found that use of the Total Quality Management system improved employee satisfaction in direct proportion to how significantly the Quality Management practices were implemented.[11] Separately, studies have established that happier workers are more productive, with an average of 12% productivity improvement with higher levels of job satisfaction.[12] And with QMS2GO, incorporating Quality Management practices is largely automated, sparing workers from additional burdens during the setup stage. While money might not be able to buy happiness, in this case, employee happiness quite literally can produce more money for companies that care about their workers and take care of their needs by using Quality Management practices. Quite a nice holiday gift indeed!
